USB PLUSPOWER SPECIFICATIONS
Home > Specifications

The USB PlusPower specification was developed by an industry group as an addendum to the USB standard. Its purpose is to define a standard method for bus powering USB peripheral devices with higher power requirements than can be handled by the USB standard.

As stated in this specification, “This document is one of a set of closely related documents. The primary document is the USB Core Specification, which constitutes the baseline specification…Only those characteristics that differ from the baseline are defined in this document. That is, if a particular mechanical or electrical characteristic … is not present in this document, the user of this document must refer to the baseline document for those characteristics.”

The current version of the USB Core Specification may be downloaded from: http://www.usb.org/developers/docs/
